Hydrochoerus Labs ("we", "us", "our") operates the Biolynx application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following information that you provide directly:

• Account information: email address and encrypted password.
• Pet profiles: name, breed, species, weight, age, and photos.
• Health logs: symptoms, observations, and wellness entries.
• Medication records: medication names, dosages, schedules, and administration history.
• Husbandry data: habitat conditions, feeding schedules, temperature and humidity readings, and enclosure maintenance records.
• Dietary information: food types, portions, and feeding notes.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Location or GPS data.
• Contacts or address book information.
• Browsing history or web activity.
• Financial information (credit cards, bank accounts, etc.).

4. How Data Is Stored

• Your data is stored securely in a Supabase cloud database with encryption at rest.
• Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth using email and password credentials. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
• Pet photos are stored in Supabase Storage with access controls tied to your account.
• All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Supabase — Cloud database and authentication provider. Stores your account data and pet information.
• Railway — API hosting platform. Processes your requests between the App and the database.
• Sentry — Error tracking and crash reporting. Collects technical crash data and device information to help us fix bugs. Sentry does not collect personal data such as names, emails, or pet information.

6. Data Sharing

• We never sell your personal data or pet information to third parties.
• Your data is not shared with third parties except as strictly necessary to operate the service (as described in the Third-Party Services section above).
• We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users.

7. Data Retention

• Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active.
• You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
• Upon account deletion, all personal data and pet information will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — View all data we store about you and your pets at any time through the App.
• Export — Download a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Delete — Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
• Correct — Update or correct any inaccurate information through the App.

9. Children's Privacy

Biolynx is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

10. Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard measures including:

• Encryption in transit using HTTPS/TLS for all communications.
• Encryption at rest for all stored data in Supabase.
• Secure password hashing — your password is never stored in plain text.
• Access controls ensuring only you can access your pet data.

11. CCPA / GDPR Compliance

If you are a resident of California (CCPA) or the European Economic Area (GDPR), you have additional rights regarding your personal data. These include the right to know what data we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of data sales (we do not sell data). We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
